But while researchers are finding out more and more about the positive health benefits of wholegrains and exercise, the essence of Good Health is being proven to simply be about how you see yourself. Being positive, seeking inner happiness, enjoying your family, having good friends and laughing all contribute to creatinga healthy sense of self.
Set the scene and you are already on the way. Ask yourself what you're unhappy about and try and address those issues, as food is often the comfort we turn to when we can't deal with them.
To achieve good health require goals and disciplines however and you need to want good health to get it.
Some ideas that you might try include:
- Establishing a regular exercise regime-start with small goals and build from there.
- Exercise with a friend to keep you both motivated.
- Join an exercise class or group, also great for motivation and staying at it.
- Set up an eating plan or meet with a dietitian to tailor one for you.
- Review what you eat over the week or month.
- Drink lots of water.
- Reward yourself along the way to keep motivated.
- Look for balance in what you eat and drink.
Don't deprive yourself of everything however, treat yourself, in moderation. |
